Hershey Kiss Chasers
I’ve said it before, being sick isn’t always a bad thing.
Before you call me crazy, remember that I’m an introvert (which is also not bad thing). Introverts need time to slow down and process what is going on in their lives. And with the quickening of pace at the beginning of the semester- I am no exception. Working a forty hour week on top of my classes has been intense,...

Thanks
Listen with the night falling we are saying thank you we are stopping on the bridges to bow for the railings we are running out of the glass rooms with our mouths full of food to look at the sky and say thank you we are standing by the water looking out in different directions.
back from a series of hospitals back from a mugging after funerals we are saying thank you after the news of...
In Memory of a Lamp
I’m not really sure why I chose the bed in the corner of our two bedroom apartment in Rome. It probably has something to do with the that fact beside my bed was the only lamp in the room. I hate overhead lighting. And even if my room mates weren’t already asleep, I’d prefer the tiny lamp with the crooked shade. I suppose at this point I could write a smug and contrived analogy about how I “saw...

While I was in Rome...
While I was in Rome my already random blogging patterns completely fell apart. I had the best of intentions leaving America (of course I was going to write the best travel blog ever written by a college student), but as soon as I landed in Rome I had stars in my eyes and my attention was absorbed in the millions of sparkling details that stole my heart. And gradually my sadness fell into the...

But love won’t let you down, unless you let it spin you back around.
Get back up on your feet, don’t play the victim.
Your ‘searching for the light’ this time is getting old, sometimes at the top, it’s gonna get a little cold.
Slow it down, sweet darlin’, slow it down.

Silence
When we draw in the churches we are supposed to be silent. These churches are so quiet and the air holds so much memory that I can almost hear the sighing and breathing of fellow sinners past, whispering their prayers in our Lord’s presence. It is so hard for me to be silent. It brings tears to my eyes and my heart threatens to stretch until it breaks.I want to sing. I want to sing.
In Rome
Ciao Ciao a tutti!
I’m in Rome! And I now understand why they call it The Eternal City. you can stand in one piazza and see pieces of Rome from all different time periods: ancient ruins beside a tram stop, a baroque palace beside a bookstore like B&N. And today we saw a modern building right beside August’s Mausoleum. It’s amazing.
